NACS Authorization Committee for Sexological Education and Science (NACSES).
The NACSES Committee was established in 2005 in the NACS General Assembly in Jyväskylä. It worked out a proposal for authorization requirements for sex educators, sexual health promoters and sexual scientists. This proposal was approved in the NACS General Assembly in Copenhagen 9.9.2007. It was decided that these requirements would be adopted in the NACS member countries from the beginning of 2008. Since that date the applications for these two new titles can be sent in. These titles are: ‘Authorized Sexuality Educator and Sexual Health Promoter (NACS)’ and ‘Authorized in Sexual Science (NACS)’. The authorization procedure is almost equal that has previously applied for sexual counsellors and clinical sexologists.
The applicants have to members of the NACS member associations and the applications have to be sent to the national associations. There is available an application form to be filled in by the applicant including a letter of motivation.
All comments concerning these new authorizations can be sent to the chair of the NACSES Committee Osmo Kontula Osmo.Kontula@vaestoliitto.fi
